A moment of calm…but just a moment!

This month has been absolutely crazy at work.  In fact, I’ve done little but work, but I can’t complain because I’m really lucky to work with people I love for clients I love.  But I do miss my free time and my regular exercise quite a bit.

This morning, I had my first good run in a week.  I ran with my friend Erin.  I don’t get to see her very often, but I’m hopeful that I’ll see more and more of her in the coming weeks.  She pushed me running this morning, and though I had to fight to stay with her, I really enjoyed the challenge.  If I can run with her, even once a week, I think my running would improve.  So I’m going to bug her again in a few days to set up another run.

Three weeks of being super busy, not exercising much, and not eating well have caused me to gain a bit of weight.  Three pounds, to be exact.  So I’m paying super close attention again to the scale and what I’m putting in my mouth.  I’m at 127 now, and I want to be back down to 124 as soon as possible.  So the run this morning was really good for me.  I also had eggs for breakfast to get some protein in.  Now I just need to pay attention to what I eat the rest of the day, which I will.  I worked too hard to get to 124 to let it slip away!

I’m back in trial again this week, so I’ll need to be planned as far as intake goes.  Eating out each meal does not make for healthy eating.  I did go grocery shopping last night, so I’m in a good position to plan.  I just need to do it.  It’s work to figure all of that out, but if I worked as hard for myself as I do for my clients, I’d be in great shape.  So right now, I’m signing off to focus on clients again.  But tonight, I focus on me.
