A Steal from Elizabeth.

My friend Elizabeth posted this on her blog:

A ship in the harbor is safe – but that is not what ships are for. ~ John A. Shedd

I don’t know who this Mr. Shedd is, but he and Elizabeth just gave me much to consider.

  1. Yes, that is a great quote! I think I have heard or read it before, but have no idea who Mr. Shedd is, either. By the way, I notice you changed the layout of your site! Like the nice pic but miss the dreamy background! šŸ™‚

  2. I am flattered that you borrowed something from my blog…and feeling unworthy of that. I adore that quote and it seemed appropriate as I "sailed" off into the unknown waters of a two-week service trip with eight students. It completely summed up the emotions I had about departing (yet again) for another adventure. And now that I'm back, I'm convinced that I'm not supposed to stay in my safe little harbor all of the time!
