Dave has been traveling much of August, so I have had quite a bit of time to myself. I much prefer him to be around, but I do well on my own for the most part. I have tried in his absence to take good care of myself, to do some cleaning and organization around the house, and to catch up on things that I have either overlooked or have been neglecting. Wednesday List #39 – Reasons I Feel Lucky
Today started incredibly early and is just now winding down. Half of me could pass out. The other half is on an incredible high. It’s wonderful all around, assuming I can keep moving. Here’s what’s going on: Continue reading
Wednesday List #37 – Thanksgiving Gratitude.
It’s been a long time since I did a list. It’s been a long time since I’ve been regular about being on this blog. I miss both. And since it’s Thanksgiving, I thought I’d dive back in with a list of goodness and gratitudes from today. Continue reading
Wednesday List #36 – Seven Fun Firsts.
Without a major triathlon to train for, I’ve been intentional about filling my time with goodness and about noticing the goodness around me. Here are a few things I’ve identified as good, fun firsts: Continue reading
Wednesday List #35 – Gratitudes.
I woke up in the middle of the night and quickly realized that I would not promptly fall back I sleep, so I got up and wrote. Two hours later, I did go back to sleep, and I ended up sleeping until 8:30 in the morning. You have wonderful visits when you’re together, and you get regular life and lots of alone time when you aren’t. That always worked well for me. Life with someone – really with someone – is very different and much harder. Continue reading
Wednesday List #32 – Reasons to Smile Today
On July 10 of last year, I did a list I called Reasons to Smile Today. At the time, I noted that things were not all “sunshine and roses” in my world. They weren’t. I know the list was, in part, an effort to boost my own spirits. Today, my spirits are quite high. I think a new list is warranted. Continue reading
Wednesday List #31 – Gratitudes.
I’m going to a funeral this afternoon for the sweetest 96-year-old woman I’ve ever met. Thinking about her and her long life makes me grateful for all that I have and hopeful that I will age as gracefully and live as fully as she did. So for now, here is a list of some things for which I am truly grateful:
